The area of photography i would like to specialise in is mainly photography like tilt shift photography. I like the look of tilt shift photography but its mainly on medium format cameras, so I’m going to search a technique that produces images on a digital camera that have the same effect as tilt shift images. I really like the look of tilt shift photography the way the frame of the image is so large and it captures so much also including a blur to create a focal point.
I have planned to take my photos in a weird and different location, I’m going to try and take my camera with me as much as possible so i can try and catch some weird and surreal places because i go to a lot of weird places and never have my camera so I’m either going to do a posed surreal image or try and capture something that is surreal to me anyway.
I may have to ask permission from who ever i use to be in my photographs if i use anyone to be in them in the end. I’m going to research artists to see what i like best if the images are more surreal with people in them or not. If i use anyone it will be a posed image but if not and there’s someone in it I’m not going to ask because then the image will be posed but i may ask the person after if I’m going to use the image.
I don’t know what I’m going to do if I’m going to do black and white, color or digitally. I don’t really want to use any digital work in my photography i want it to be a really strong image without any digital changing or enhancing. I may want to do some editing on Photoshop with my test images to see difference in the image and how it can be changed but i don’t want my final 3 images to be digital but i may change my mind after a few test shoots.
I haven’t researched many photographers yet so i don’t really have any inspirations on surrealism. I’m going to research multiple photographers to get more ideas, maybe watch weird clips to try and get 3 great surreal images. I want my images to be weird and make you think.
I wasn’t planning to use film in or for my images because i want to be able to look back at my images to see what i’m doing different or wrong to get a surreal image.
I want my 3 final images to be a3 or a4 not to small i want the images to be clear and fresh. I’m only going to print out 3 final images but i will have many test shoots and ideas that i have shot also printed out but not in as good quality as my final 3 images will be.
All my work is going o be presented in a sketchbook i was thinking of also including some film to create an also horror movie kind of feeling including small clips of the place i have shot my final images.I really want to create a short movie like for one of my finals to try and capture surrealism in film, I’m going to shoot most of it at night and try and create short weird clips in the night.Im not sure if i really want to do this yet so im going to do a test and see how it turns out, I’m going to shoot at night including scary scenes and weird things to try and capture what i want in my images.
